I’m really terrible at guessing ages, but this pic was probably taken somewhere between late 1979-1981. I love how it’s kinda naturally sepia-tone, between the earth-tone of our outfits and standing in the middle of yes-there-is-literally-nothing-around-all-the-way-to-the-horizon Briggs, Texas. It’s weird to see how big the creek on our property was before dad tried to fill it in and gave up when it just became a gross swamp full of bugs and snakes. If I remember correctly (from later family stories, not actual memory) I’m pretty sure we still didn’t have a well at this point and got our drinking water from tanks on loan from Ft.Hood. I know it’s kind of hard to imagine considering the person I eventually turned out to be, but when I say I was raised out in the country, whoo doggie I am not even fucking around.
So yeah, me, my awesome hippie mom, and my bro out in the country.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY
